See the light without being blinded by it.
Easy install, works great - produces enough light to get your bearings in dark room or hallway without needing full room lights. LED light has 4 brightness levels. Overall very happy, a good Legrand product.

Solid product - nice for light for the dark
This switch works really well. We have it in our basement and it has a great sensor for the light to turn on when the switch is off. No complaints.

Helpful Tips for Single Pole Installation
The included instructions weren't very helpful for single pole installation, so here are some tips. If you're replacing a single pole switch, you'll notice that the original switch had 2 wires connected to it along with a green or bare copper "ground" wire. Take the 2 insulated wires (not the ground) and connect 1 to the black screw on the side (this is called the common). Take the 2nd wire and connect it to one of the gold screws (these are called the travelers). Which traveler you connect it to will determine which way the rocker switches on and off. One traveler will have power when the switch is up and one traveler will have power when the switch is down. With the nightlight on top, the traveler that worked for me was the one on the opposite side of the common (black screw). The light is on when the top of the rocker is pressed. Once you have those connected, you need a third wire (again, not the ground), called the neutral wire. Your original single pole switch didn't use this. If your house is wired properly, there should be a white wire tucked away in the back of the switch box. This is the neutral or white wire you see in the not-so-great diagram. You will need to tap into this wire using a 6" or so piece of spare wire so that you can connect it to the "silver" screw on the opposite side of the common (black screw). When your done with this, you should be using the black screw (common), one of the gold screws (traveler), and the silver screw (neutral). Now, connect the ground wire to the green screw and you should be done. Carefully tuck everything back into the switch box, add a cover, turn on the power, and enjoy. I hope this helps! When properly connected, it works great.

Sharp, but fails to perform
I recently bought this product and installed it in all three of my bathrooms, with timer switches for the fans. I am a big fan of their timer switches, but this switch does not work. The first night I discovered that the nightlight needed to be on the lowest setting otherwise the light it is connected to flickers. Ever since that night, it doesn't matter which setting the nightlight is on, the lights flicker every 3 seconds like the other review states. This is very upsetting since there is not another night light option so I will have to uninstall all the timers and switches to find a product that works for me.

Could have been the best switch
I purchased a bunch of the Night Light with Single-Pole, 3-way switch for single pole use I have tried everything to get the switch to work properly with the layout of the light about the switch. However it appears the instructions show the light located on the bottom. But if you set it up that way the word Legrand which is on the rocker switch would be upside down. When I flip the switch so the rocker is on top then people say your switch is upside down because the wording is upside down. However if I install the switch with the light on top and the wording facing the right way up (which is how I would like it installed) it operates backwards. Off is up and On is Down. I have tried switching the COM (Lead wire) and SP (Hot wire) which on a normal switch would reverse the operation however on the switch it does nothing.
This switch could have been great if they actually tested the product in real life before sending it to market.
Also, the instruction for Single Pole use are nil. Only 3-way operation is documented. I know configuring this single pole use should be common sense to anyone that is actually installing this. However that is not me. I usually wire nut my whites for a switch rather then connecting them for single pole use.

Questions & Answers
I installed these in bathrooms and bedrooms as single pole. I just connected the old wires to the corresponding black and brass screws. They work great. I did notice that I need a neutral wire which I did not use. Was this a mistake? Thanks.
Thank you for your inquiry. The NTL873 Nightlight with Single Pole/3-Way switch requires a neutral to operate the night light function of this combination device.

How do you adjust the intensity of the nightlight? And…what is causing the nightlight to flicker? Please help!!
Terry S is 100% correct. Big thanks to him for providing the missing information for single pole use. As for the other reviewer who used a ground as a neutral, they may go to the same place put this would never pass an electrical inspection and is a code violation. Legend needs better instructions for single pole use for this device.

How do you get it to the off position? Can you turn it off so there's no light even in the dark? I have installed it and it cycles through but the order seems to be: low medium high and then extra low, is there a way to set to off or is that just auto?
Hello Rob,
The radiant Single Pole/3-Way switch with night light will support the following:
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
Press face to cycle through the following light levels: Off, Ultra-low, Low, Medium, High.

The light fixtures I have are LED bulbs and in the questions I saw this will not work with them? Why? I believe I have it wired correctly for a single pole, I read Terry S’s review but still not working.
Hello, I'd advise you reach out to technical support for assistance with this installation. When using these devices with certain LED bulbs/fixtures, you may experience flickering on your LED load. But to ensure you have your device wired properly, I'd advise you reach out to our technical support team.

I followed the instructions for single pole installation. Why does the switch work backwards ? Normal ON is push top of switch, OFF is push bottom where Legrand name is. Mine are reversed. Tried swapping hot and load wire but no help.
It's not a switch issue (I have 2 of these switches) it's a poor wiring diagram issue from Legrand. In the "Reviews" section there is an entry from Terry S who clarified the single pole wiring set up to get the the switch to work in the correct direction by just swapping the traveller wires. Thank you Terry S. Tech support should read customer input.

I your 15 Amp 120-Volt Single-Pole/3-Way Rocker Light Switch with Night Light, White. Existing Legrand only controls a bathroom light & has 2 gold connectors on one side and a ground screw on the other. I have 2 black wires & a ground. How do I wire it?
I have attached a wiring diagram for a single pole application. Your HOT black wire would be connected to the COMMON terminal and the remaining black wire(LOAD wire) to be connected to SP terminal.

The light does not turn off during daylight hours
I would check the wiring and verify that the nightlight has the required Neutral wire connected to the silver terminal. If it does, try shining a bright light at the nightlight to see if you can active the light detection photo eye.
