Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best gang switch Bought this switch to replace an existing lighted gang switch where the light failed. Added the optional RCDLM LED light and really liked the result. The ability to add an LED light is a great feature for the Radiant line. The ability to use a single or dual feed by a removable link is nice. This is a well designed switch!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flawed ergonomic design The switch itself is solidly built and the individual rockers have a nice feel, but I have grown to loathe the vertical orientation of the rockers, especially because there is absolutely no separation between the upper and lower toggles and therefore it is hard to distinguish by feel where one ends and the other begins. They are so close together that when I attempt to turn off the upper rocker I often end up turning on the lower rocker at the same time. Conversely, when I try to turn on the lower rocker I often inadvertently turn off the upper rocker as well. In my case this situation is exacerbated because I frequently try to operate them blindly, reaching around one side of the wall at the end of a hallway to the kitchen wall where they are located. While I readily admit that my tactile sensitivity isn't what it was when I was younger, I think even 20-year-old me would have a tough time operating these switches blindly without unintentionally hitting both at once.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad switch design Legrand has reinvented a dual switch design for ecstatics by placing the vertical switching buttons above and below, but we end up constantly turning the bottom light on when trying to turn off the top switch. Will be replacing this switch with the better design dual s/w, horizontal switching above and below.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst design EVER!! These paddle/rocker switctes are very POORLY designed..... Your "floating" screw design is absurd, especially if you are in the field. Having to turn the interrupter upside down to have the screw drop down so one can try and wrap your wire around the screw.... seriously. Also there is NO warning on the package to let you know that the screws ARE NOT REMOVABLE if you want to wrap your wire around the screw first and reinstall screw. Good luck if you inadvertently removed it.....you'll never get it back in. Leviton, Lutron & others don't have this issue. Refund is in order for sure.... redesign it...

Questions & Answers

How do you wire the the two single pole "RCD11W" with a single pole "TM870WSL"? My lights for all 3 switches work, but of the two locator lights, only the single pole TM870WSL locator light is illuminated. The locator light on RCD11W is not lit. Why?

Asked by: Ryan
The illumination on the RCD11W is optional so you would have to add the RCDLM light module for it to illuminate. Patented Snap-In Light Module (sold separately) transforms a combination switch into an illuminated switch in seconds. https://www.legrand.us/search.aspx?q=rcdlm

I have a rcd11wcc6 switch that I want to install. I have power coming from a junction box to the switch and I want to control a ceiling fan and an a separate light. How would I go about hooking up the 3 wires to the Com A, Com B, SP A,and the SP B?

Asked by: Tony
You need to connect your HOT wire to either COM A or COM B and leave the Split Circuit tab in on the back of the switch. Your fan and light wires get connected to SP A and SP B.

I want to have some non-"smart" radiant switches in the same gang as "smart" radiant switches. I notice the non-"smart" switches come in BLACK, whereas the "smart" switches come in NICKEL. The wall they are going on is dark. Are these the same colors?

Asked by: osdtexas
The Smart switches are only available in Light Almond, Nickel, and White so they will not match your Black non-smart switches or devices. we do offer the non-smart devices in Nickel.

The RCD11W Radiant cmbination switch(SP/SP) can be wired using two HOT wires to COM A and COM B. You will also need to remove the split circuit tab on the back of the device to complete the installation

Good Morning, The nickel is currently available in the 3-way/3-way combination. This is because you can use any 3-way device as a single pole if needed. Hope this helps!
