Questions & Answers

When using #12 stranded wire is it reccomended to use wire directly or use a fork terminal or ferrule

Asked by: Josh
Thank you for your inquiry. Devices such as part number PS20AC3I have binding head screws (with or without pressure plate) and may be wired with solid or stranded building wire ( not fine-strand flexible cord) of appropriate sizes. Binding head screws will accommodate forked terminals, but they must be sized properly for the binding head screw. A UL-approved terminal rated for proper wire size and installed with a UL-listed crimper provided for installing the listed forked terminals. Note: Ferules are not approved for use with binding head screws. If you have any other questions or comments, please contact us at (800) 223-4185 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST or by email at Tech.Support@legrand.us.
