Sustainable Solutions: Floor-Based Power and Data Raceway Systems
At Legrand, we are your dedicated partner in creating dynamic, high-performance spaces. We understand today’s challenges and are uniquely positioned to be your trusted partner in navigating the path toward a more sustainable built environment.
To reduce our environmental impact, Legrand has incorporated eco-design principles into our product development. That means we consider a product’s entire lifecycle – from design to end of life, focusing on raw material extraction and supply, manufacturing, product distribution, use and end of life.
When it comes to the built environment, one of the most sustainable strategies is adaptive reuse and retrofitting existing buildings, rather than constructing a new structure from the ground up. Repurposing spaces and materials can decrease the number of carbon emissions connected to materials’ production and reduce the amount of debris and waste going into landfills. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, deconstruction rather than demolition of a building can save 90% of a building’s materials.1
Modern spaces need sustainable and efficient solutions:
Cutting-edge products, like Legrand’s Connectrac® product line of floor-based raceways, incorporate eco-friendly concepts, while seamlessly supplying power and data access anywhere in commercial spaces.
Starting with the packaging, a reduced amount of cardboard is used and several of the raceway components feature recycled materials. When it comes to installation, cutting into the concrete is not required, which helps mitigate poor indoor air quality and potential damage caused by invasive core drilling. Plus, the adaptability and ability to reuse the raceway provides future flexibility for any space.
