New Legrand On-Q Active Copper HDMI Cables Deliver 4k, Ultra HD And HDR Content Over Distances Of Up To 50 Ft.

HEBRON, Ky., March 13, 2018 – Legrand, the global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, unveils two new Active Copper HDMI cables that support the latest product technologies, including 4K UltraHD, HDR, and Audio Return Channel capability, to distances of up to 50 feet (15 meters).

These cables provide a cost-effective solution at extended lengths while meeting 4K UltraHD specifications, as compared to more expensive fiber optic HDMI and HDBaseT2 alternatives. 18Gbps cables are available in lengths of 32.8 ft. (10 meters; Model ACAA10-BK) and 50 ft. (15 meters; Model ACAA15-BK). Each will distribute content with 100 percent reliability and no signal loss or interruptions.

Self-powered by the source device to which they are connected, these cables, unlike signal extenders, require no external power supply. The HDMI connectors are also color-coded to ensure correct directional installation and feature an enhanced grip to aid in making the secure connections. The new cables are CMG and CL3 rated for in-wall use in commercial and residential installations.

“Installers regularly encounter situations where they need high-performance, longer distance in-wall HDMI cabling solutions in both residential and commercial applications,” said Fritz Werder, Legrand VP and general manager, On-Q and Nuvo Lines. “Our new Active Copper HDMI Cables are ultra-reliable, color-coded for directional accuracy, and provide a highly cost-effective 4K-capable solution.”

The cables have been third-party tested to ensure their ability to handle the full 18Gbps data speeds necessary to deliver today’s 4K/UHD 60Hz video resolution, with four times the picture density and noticeably clearer images than the 1080p high-definition standard. Products equipped to play or display vibrant, color-rich HDR content require cables that can deliver high-speed, high-bandwidth performance.
