Can you confirm the wiring standards for the house phone wiring? i.e. If we have CAT5e/6 wiring in the walls for use with phone/voice lines, what is the pin-out between the male ends plugging into this module vs. the female ends in the wall jacks?
This unit conforms to the 568A standard
This means that pins 4 and 5 are line 1, pins 3 and 6 are line 2, pins 1 and 2 are Line 3 and pins 7 and 8 are Line 4.

Can this be used as an extender? In other words, my home currently already has a telecom module. After an addition to the home, I now need to add a few other lines. Is it possible to utilize this product to extend the existing telecom module I have?
you would connect the last out of the existing unit to the first out of the new unit.
connecting to the service in of the TM1045 would have a RJ31X line seizure between the old and new units. Connecting to the first output bypasses that line seizure mechanism.

I believe my unit is malfunctioning. How can I troubleshoot it?
Disconnect all cables from the device.
Test your incoming phone cable with a wired telephone test set. Assuming you get dialtone:
Connect your telephone input cable to the input port.
Connect a wired handset to one of the output ports.
If you do not get dialtone, the module is faulty.
You can bypass the RJ31x line seizure port by connecting your incoming telephone feed to one of the output ports and connecting your telephone test set to one of the other output ports.
This could be considered a valid workaround if the unit is out of warranty and you don't wish to replace it.

can this work with Vonage or other voip devices? While connecting the line to service in in TM1045, the phone line goes dead. Is there a specific way to handle this ?
that would indicate a Line Seizure port failure. Replace the TM1045, OR, just connect the Vonage to one of the output ports, which will activate the other inside phone jacks bypassing the Security Line Seizure port.

how do you remove a Legrand Telephone Module (TM1045) from the metal box where it is mounted? I have removed the actual plug module, but cannot remove the base.
The base has two plunger pins similar to the 4 on the TM1045 module itself. They are located on the right side of that bracket. Pull them out then the bracket tilts up from the side where you pulled the pins out.

No, it distributes analog phone service only.
