Questions & Answers
What is the size, or gauge, is the wire used in the construction of Cablofil tray?
As the original inventor and world’s largest manufacturer of welded wire mesh cable tray, Cablofil cable tray products have many unique and patented features. Cable tray manufacturers have traditionally used a common wire size throughout the entire tray. Through our research and design efforts, Cablofil has discovered that certain wires in the cable tray are load bearing and other wires are not load bearing. Our cable tray design takes this into account. The top longitudinal wire and the cross wires are 5.9mm. All other longitudinal wires are 3.9mm. This unique combination of wire sizes, patented in the United States and around the world, allows Cablofil cable trays to be stronger than the competitors that must use all 4mm diameter wires to achieve comparable load capacity. Please reference our load table on catalog page A.6

How do I determine the intervals at which I require Expansion Splice Kits (EZ-2)? I cannot see that information in the Installation Guide.
The spacing between expansion splices is determined from the temperature differential and straight tray footage between bends. NEMA VE2/NEMA BI50016 standards publish a table used to determine this spacing. As an example, for a temperature differential of 25 degrees Fahrenheit, expansion splices should be used with wire mesh cable tray every 512 feet between bends. It is rare that expansion comes into play with wire mesh cable tray. For additional information, please reach out to Cablofil tech support at technical.support-CAB@legrand.us

I am making sweeping 90s out of 18" basket tray. I always use 9 cuts out of the side to make my 90. My supervisor says it only takes 8. If I make one with 8 it is an incomplete 90. Can you provide me with the correct documentation for making a sweeping 90
I would say you are correct. On page 18 of the Legrand Installation Guide, shows 9 cuts are needed for a sweep 90 on an 18" wide cable tray.
