Rated 2 out of 5 by from it doesn't leave enough space to plug in Our builders installed many of this in our kitchen, but when it pops out, it doesn't leave enough space for type B plug with three prongs as there is no enough head space. in addition, usually one prong is longer than the other, so when I tried to reverse it, there is no enough space for the head. and even if you try the bottom holes, there is no enough head space either. it's a very dumb and limited design that is only good for the vertical plugs. come on, design a different one with longer space once it pops out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Neat Idea, Nice lines Once it was installed I really liked the look of the pop out outlet. THe installation was a tad trickier than the usual standard outlet which is to be expected but I youtubed it and got through it without an electrician. The lines of the outlet and cover are great and the pop out seemes to work well. My only critique is that my different sized plugs don't all work with it. I needed to plug in an extension cord to run a shop vac where a leak had happened and it didn't pop out far enough to accomodate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best looking and functional outlet This outlet is the best looking I’ve installed!!! Installation for this outlet and other Legrand adorne electrical devices is much easier and seems to have a bit more protection compared to other conventional outlets because the screws for the wires sit flush so there’s less area where a ground wire can interfere and cause a breaker to trip. One more pro for this outlet is that it adds an additional third plug to the one gang box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice idea... but could be better I just got them installed and I have to say, I am a little disappointed. I was expecting this to be more flushed and seamless with our island, but after installing it, it actually is not flush due to this additional backing and the contrast of the black backing calls out attention to it. I like the idea of the plug being hidden, but thought it was designed to be more flush (flat) against the surface so it doesn't call attention to it. If that is what you are looking for, i would make sure you are ok with the thickness before making the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Win-Win: Sophisticated Design and Three Plugs The Pop-Out outlet provides a modern addition to your walls, avoiding those unsightly traditional outlets. The outlet features an additional plug (three total) over traditional outlets and with the simple push before/after use, the outlet pops-out/disappears into the wall. Thus far, we have had no issues and look forward to installing more throughout the house. We have this outlet at the far side of our kitchen where we keep/charge our electronics and smarthome base. Previously, we were maxxed out on the plugs in the outlet, and now we have an additional plug that we have been using. I wonder how we ever functioned without a third plug. Installation time was minimal, about 10 minutes, which is typical of an outlet change. Prior to install, make sure you have a deep electrical box so you can properly fit the outlet and its wires. One word of caution: the outlet is only meant for indoor wall surfaces, so if you are hoping to install on a horizontal work surface, look elsewhere. Also, for those who want your outlet childproofed, I would look elsewhere if you plan to install these below counter height, as there does not appear to be a way to childproof this outlet. As my (past childproof age) children are fascinated by this outlet, I imagine little kids would be even more fascinated by the popping action. I do not believe you can go wrong installing these outlets in your home. They will supply an additional plug at every outlet, as well as provide an updated and stylish complement to any room they adorn.

Questions & Answers

Its been perfect for almost a year, suddently it started to pop out on its own, I read a similar issue and it was suggested to tuck wires to leave more room behind its connection, but I checked it and everything looks right. It seems faulty outlet

Asked by: Walter
Wish that I could help, but ours -- installed for about the same period of time -- is working fine. I hasten to add that we don’t use it a lot. (It's installed on a square pillar that supports a ceiling beam in our now open-plan Kitchen-Mudroom, where we removed a wall in renovations. We didn’t really “need” it but the city electrical code requires an outlet every “X” feet, so that was the best solution to being able to pass inspection.) Frankly, it sounds more like a "mechanical" problem than an electrical problem, perhaps with the "release and catch" mechanism that responds to the push?

Have four of these pop outs, but I lost one of the steel frames. The frame for all other Adorne single-gang devices wont work...seems the one for the pop-out is specific only to itself. Is there a way to get a replacement frame specific to the pop out?

Asked by: Joe
I had the same problem. I took a standard 1- gang frame and just modified it with a Dremel tool and it worked fine.

Peut-on la poser Mural mais à l'horizontale dans le cas où il ne reste pas beaucoup d'espace au-dessus du mécanisme intérieur d'un armoire de bas sur le côté d'un îlot ?

Asked by: emmanuelle gauthier
Hello, Yes, this pop-out could be installed horizontally on a wall but the junction box would also need to be installed horizontally.

Hello, The adorne Pop-Out Outlet does not come in a GFCI configuration. We would recommend using adorne AGFTR2152W4 GFCI for bathroom applications. Best Regards, Technical Support

My outlet has been great for the past couple years but, one of them won't stay popped in anymore. Is there a way to fix it?

Asked by: Shae
Hello Shae, This type of issue can occur if there isn't enough room in the back of the box to accommodate the wire connections. Please contact Technical Support so we can troubleshoot with you. 844-957-3783, M-F | 8 - 6p ET

I know it can only be mounted vertically but can the outlet itself be made flush with the quartz countertop and then just have the popout section come out but the rest of the outlet is flush.

Asked by: Dotti V
Hello Dottie, You are correct, the device cannot be installed horizontally/on a counter top. The pop out outlet is meant to be mounted into it's metal subframe, then the wall plate is snapped over top of it. It will sit flush with the wall plate.
