Review of sofTap Wi-Fi Ready Master Dimmer
This is a replacement switch for the standard electronic dimmer switch. I recently added several of the wi-fi switches, all masters, to control several outside lights as well as a towel warmer. All have worked well and then I decided to add one more wi-fi switch which is the subject of this brief review.
Instillation was not difficult and once you understand how to press in the 4 compressible snaps then exchanging one switch for another is fairly routine. The one caveat that I have found is I had several paddle switches and I was completely incapable of removing these particular switches.. I would advise not using these at all especially now since Legrand Adorne has added a mechanical push switch that is identical to the basic electronic switch. I needed the paddle switch due to electrical wiring issues that could not be resolved unless spending a lot of unnecessary money. The paddle switch resolved this problem but did not match my other electronic ones but now this problem has been resolved. These newer puch mechanical switches are like all the others, except for the paddle switches, easy to install or remove. The 4 way paddle switch has yet to be replaced with a mechanical push switch but I am hoping for this in the future.
Once I turned off the electricity to the switch area, the old dimmer switch was removed without difficulty and the new wi-fi dimmer switch was installed.
Then the programming started and once again I needed to call in for technical help with this issue. I have pretty good mechanical skills but the programming portion seems to escape my skill sets but luckily there are good people at Legrand Adorne for technical help. They have all proven to be patient, kind and understanding. I am sure that there are many house repair warriors such as myself but help is there so do not struggle with this. I did find one issue that has been resolved by programming the dimmer switch at the level you want. If it is not to your satisfaction, you do not need to call but wait until the program time turns on the wi-fi dimmer and then go to that particular switch in the phone app to increase or decrease the intensity of the light being controlled. Thank goodness for this little nugget.
Overall, the cost, time and instillation was worth the effort. Legrand Adorne will back up their product and replace any switch that goes bad. Thank goodness there are still companies that stand by their products.

Can I pair the Wifi switches directly to Amazon Alexa without the hub?
The LC7001 hub is required to work with Amazon Alexa.

Do o need a hub to make this work With my WiFi and Elexa
Yes You do need the Hub (model LC7001) to get the Adorne WiFi ready products and Amazon Alexa. You do not need the Hub unless You care to use our Lighting control app or Amazon Alexa.
