Questions & Answers

Can I use this controller to control the light from 4 locations using 3 way and 4 way switches? I have 4 doors that enter from driveway, house, garage and back yard and I want the ability to turn the light on at all 4 spots.

Can this switch be wired downline from an existing 3-way? I saw an earlier answer that directed the dimmer be placed on the hot side of a 3-way toggle and provided wiring instructions for the rest. Can the order of the two controls be switched?

Asked by: DaveJ
This light/fan dual controller has to be on the HOT side of your 3way.

I agree with others who have said your wiring diagram is super confusing. The diagram doesn't show any wires going to the light and the fan, only the wires from the power supply. Can you give provide a better diagram?

Asked by: Mark01
For a single pole application, one yellow wire would be connected to your light and one red wire is connected to your fan. For a 3way application, the yellow and red wires are traveler wires. Your light and fan would be connected to the 3way switches and the other end of your circuit. I have a fan/light fixture on a 3-way switch. It has 2 red, 2 black &1 green. I think the single black is hot and know the green is gnd. No wires are labelled. How do I tell how the other black and two reds get wired to the 2 red & 1 yellow on the switch?

Asked by: Steve W
We would recommend that you either use a volt meter to determine your wiring, consult with an electrician, or contact Technical Support: Pass & Seymour products 1.844.957-3783 Mon - Fri: 8am - 6pm EST (excluding holidays) Email Us - tech.support@legrand.us

What are the practical differences between the Legrand dual dimmer switch model # LSDC163PLAV and dimmer switch model # LSCLDC163PLACCV4? In the latter model number, what do the extra characters “CL” and “CCV4” represent?

Asked by: Chris
The dimmer on the LSDC163PLAV is for Incandescent lights only and the LSCLDC163PLACCV4 is for Incandescent, CFL, and LED lights. The V or CCV4 is for the packaging(V is for our clear vision pack).
