I just purchased this item and I was excited to have it installed. A retired electrician friend of mine came over to assist me and said that it needs special wiring. Is that the case, or can we just install it in a regular outlet space? Thank you.
The USB/outlet does not require special wiring and can be used to replaced an existing 15A receptacle. It only requires a Hot, Neutral, and Ground connected to install.

Y does the outlet work and not the usb ports
If the Receptacle is working and the USB is not I believe the unit is faulty. Call in to tech support at 1800 223 4185 Option1 We can send You a replacement for this item
