GFCI receptacles from the radiant® Collection self-test automatically every three seconds to ensure reliable protection from shock due to ground fault occurrences. Meeting National Electrical Code requirements for ground fault protection, GFCI receptacles make it easier to recognize and fix trips right where they happen – no more confusion at the breaker box. 20A outlets are ideal for use with larger appliances and in commercial settings, as well as to meet regional requirements (Chicago, Canada). GFCI protection is required by code in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, basements, outdoor areas, and for any other outlets found within six feet of a sink or water source. GFCI outlets should always be used when replacing existing GFCI outlets during renovation. Spec-Grade devices are engineered to meet federal specifications for use in commercial installations.

Does this audible if the power goes off, or only if it trips?

Asked by: Andrew2021
The alarm will only sound when the GFCI is tripped.

Why is there no mention of how loud the alarm is, nor does it say if it is a constant sound or it pulses. I would think a cut sheet would give that information.

Asked by: alancr
The alarm is on constant, 60 db at 10'. The decibel rating is shown on the attached file.

Being in the electrical field we have problems with freezers and refrigerators.. I have looked in the internet...and question is will this GFI protect my freezer. What I have found is that I am needing Snuffer built in the GFCI..

Asked by: Juan169
Yes This GFCI will protect Your freezer. You would want to use the GFCI with the audible alarms on freezers and other motor loads to notify You if there is a ground fault that tripped the GFCI.

I am replacing a non alarm gfci out with the 2097traw model.  When I connect everything the same way.  All I see is a green light.  No power to anything.  Cant trip or reset it either.    Is it defective?

Asked by: Matt2019
I would verify that it is indeed a Legrand-Pass & Seymour GFCI because none of ours are designed with a green LED(RED only when tripped). Legrand-Pass & Seymour should be stamped into the edge of the body, where the wallplate would sit.
