Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Questionable quality; no meaningful instructions Two units, both functionally useless. Trying to replace an old switch/outlet combo with new (gfci) one. Wiring line/outlet only (without switch) to test setup and wiring. Gfci tester plug says it is wired correctly, but both units trip immediately when powered or reset. Putting in a spare 2 slot gfci unit with the same line wiring (sans switch) does not trip. No instructions in either box (despite box saying they are inside). Online instructions here are for gfci outlets, not the switch/outlet version. Terrible experience and without proper instructions not even sure product is any good. Could be user error, but with no meaningful instructions, I can only go by what the tester plug says.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very safe and effective I was almost ready to return it because it did not fit into the small metal wall box with the old BX cable wiring in my 1939 house. Someone suggested using a Wire-mold surface box with pigtails connecting to the ancient wiring. It worked and we love the new GFCI switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This switch was just what the doctor ordered. The switch with its multiple functions addressed ALL of my requirements. Its simple design allowed me to install it in the original electrical box without making any alterations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from up/down is better than left/right A vertical switch makes it clear whether it's on or off -- other switches are often horizontal, and for some reason I can't remember whether left or right is on!

Questions & Answers

Does this switch have dimmer? If not do you offer a model that has dimmer built into the switch next to an outlet?

Asked by: Lou
Unfortunately no, we don't have a device that will combine a dimmer, a switch and a GFCI outlet into one single gang device.

Package says 15 AMP, but printed on the unit next to the switch is 20A PER CIRCUIT. In the middle is GFCI CLASS A 20A., 125V., 60Hz. Next to the recepticle is 15A RECEPT. So it looks like the recepticle is rated 15A the switch is rated 20A. Right?

Asked by: Bill
Yes, it is a 15A receptacle that is rated for 20A feed-through.

Can this product be wired in such a way that the switch will control the receptacle and be GFCI protected also?

Asked by: Tommy
To answer the question asked by “Skip”. You have to make sure you are wiring the wire closest to the hot side to the “Load terminal which is the top one then the other wire closest to the neutral side to the hot wire of what ever you are trying to feed. It will keep tripping if you make the mistake of getting the line” confused with the load”.

when I turn the lights switch on the outlet want work, when I turn it off the outlet works, what did I do wrong

Asked by: Forest 22
It sounds like it is wired incorrectly if you want the switch to control and light and the GFCI to be HOT all the time. Please call Technical Support and they can explain the correct wiring to you. 2 black wires coming out top of outlet, ok so connect one to wire going to light, but if only 2 more wires from wall, neutral and hot, does that mean connect it to same hot side of this receptacle, no other hot connection available

Asked by: kevin22
One black wire from the switch goes to the wire from your light and the other black wire gets connected to the LOAD HOT terminal at the top of the GFCI. Pass & Seymour products 1.800.223-4185 opt 1 Mon - Fri: 8am - 8pm EST (excluding holidays) Email Us - tech.support@legrand.us

We purchased the switch GFCI outlet, there are 2 black wires coming from the product, we have no clue what those are supposed to be for. Help--there isn't a diagram anywhere that shows these two black wires coming out of the product.

Asked by: Shamrockdos
The two wires are for The on off switch only, one of the wires goes to the hot, and the other one go to the load ( light or fan) (recommendation : the wire closest to the corner is the one goes to the load)
