Hi, this socket looks like a two-piece. The top ring being removable, so a shade can be installed. Is it actually, or not?

As I am holding this socket in my hand now, I can assure you, it actually IS a two-piece socket. Please double check and correct your answer. So people know it can be used to hold a lampshade.
